Philosophy

What is undo? Cancel or reverse the effects or results of the previous action.

Construction industry has a significant irreversible impact on the environment across a broad spectrum of its activities.

We need to evaluate such activities and work in a direction that causes the least disturbance to our habitat by undoing our current systems and redoing them.

Design Undo is a multidisciplinary practice which vouches for sustainability. We work with local and natural materials to create sensible designs with a minimal environmental impact.

Founder

Ashumi Jhaveri studied architecture from SCET, Surat. Her curiosity to know further about unconventional architecture practices and experience a life beyond took her to Auroville, a township in the South of India, which is based on alternate learnings and experiences. The seeds of sustainability were sown during the early college days and only strengthened with time and exposure. She has been a bio architect for 5+ years and is a certified permaculture designer. Her expertise in using natural materials for building and her passion for ecological and sustainable construction has helped her deliver multiple projects across the country over the years. Her aim is to revive the old and lost techniques of construction and bring them to the mainstream, to empower people to have a holistic approach, regenerate degraded lands, and to encourage people to be mindful of their choices when it comes to food and shelter. She believes in “practice what you preach” and has made conscious choices in her lifestyle which has made her a minimalist.
